40.7 FLEET CELEBRATES THE 2008 SEASON

BIG BOWLING BASH DRAWS SCORES OF SAILORS

(Tuesday, May 28, 2008) In what proved to be another in the string of successful parties for the Chicago Beneteau 40.7 fleet, about sixty sailors representing seven of the fleet's boats gathered Saturday night at Timber Lanes Bowling Alley on Irving Park Road in Chicago to meet together for the first time this spring and knock down a few pins while hoisting more than a few drinks.

Crew members, friends and relatives from at least seven of the fleet's boats came to the festive meeting. Boats represented were: Tsunami, La Tempete, Vayu, Das Boot, Excalibur, Turning Point, and Mojo.

The party didn't last too long though. Most everyone there was participating in the next day's Olympic Cup Regatta, the first series event of the year, so the party was definitely thinning out by 10:30 that evening.
